WHAT TO EXPECT

When: Monthly, last Thursday, 4:00–7:00 PM.
Where: Held at my home on Søndre Boulevard in Maribo.
Cost: 50 kr, includes snacks and drinks.
Capacity: Limited to 10 participants.

SEWING SERVICES
REPURPOSE: I can restyle dresses, skirts, tops, pants, etc. Take in or let out a garment. Shorten, taper or lengthen sleeves, straps, skirt, pants, etc.
REMAKE: I can make a copy of a garment you love. If your perfect-fitting dress is worn out and you can’t let it go or if your comfiest of t-shirt is full of holes, I can help.
Pricing is project-based, and my hourly rate varies, depending on the job. Fees will be discussed and agreed upon prior to getting started.

Project-Based Learning:Â Explore a diverse range of engaging projects, or bring your own ideas and inspirations to transform into reality. Projects are designed to teach specific skills while allowing room for creativity and personal expression.
Here are just a few options you can dive into:
- Remake or Refashion Garments:
Transform old clothes into something new and stylish. Repurpose fabrics, alter fits, and add creative details to give garments a modern update. - Beginner Sewing Projects:
Start with simple, practical items like tote bags, pillowcases, aprons, or drawstring pouches. Build foundational skills such as hemming, seam finishing, and adding pockets or embellishments. - Patchwork and Quilt Design:
Experiment with piecing techniques and fabric combinations to create intricate patterns and textures. Learn precision sewing while crafting stylish, wearable patchwork vests or heirloom-quality quilts with vibrant designs and stitching techniques. - Sashiko Mending Techniques:
Refresh worn garments with decorative Japanese sashiko embroidery. Strengthen fabric while adding beautiful patterns for a fresh, artistic look. - Garment Construction:
Sew clothes from start to finish with skills like pattern reading, accurate cutting, seam assembly, and fitting adjustments. Create pants, skirts, shirts, or dresses you’ll be proud to wear.
Each project provides the opportunity to practice and apply techniques while creating something meaningful and functional. No matter where you begin, you’ll gain valuable skills and experience to fuel your creative journey!

- My Expertise: completed an Textile Design & Communications degree[KM1] in 2024; taught sewing in Spain and developed sewing classes for different ages – from children to adult; plus many years of designing, collecting and sewing clothes.
Lesson Structure and Pricing
Duration: Each lesson is one or two hours, depending on your preference and the scope of your project.

Rate: 375 DKK per hour.

Beginners: Learn the essentials and build a strong foundation in sewing.
Intermediate Makers: Take your skills to the next level by focusing on techniques like garment fitting, fabric manipulation, and advanced stitching.
Advanced Sewists: Explore creative challenges, such as designing original garments, tackling complex projects, or mastering specialty techniques.
WORKSHOP ACCESS
For added value, you can combine your lessons with access to the Comfortable Wardrobe workshop in Nysted (125 DKK/hour with guidance or 50 DKK/hour for independent use). This allows you to continue practicing your skills and completing your projects outside of lesson time.
