About

My inspiration to fine-tune my wardrobe and share my experiences around collecting my clothing and accessories is my daughter. Through my stories, I hope to inspire her, as well as other women, to build a comfortable wardrobe – one that reflects our life experiences and grounds us in our identity as women.

This is why Comfortable WardrobeTM stands for the following values:

And Sew It Began …

I started sewing doll clothes as a child, and then moved on to making crushed velvet baby-doll dresses, grunge-style flannel overalls, and even prom dresses, for my friends when I was in high school.

Reuse, repurpose or remake what you already have – it’s cheaper, it’s sustainable and it’s more gratifying!

These early projects eventually led me to designing and redesigning the clothes in my wardrobe, even today. I hope that by reading about my ideas, you will find new ways to wear something that may have been in your closet all along or let me to help you create something unique and different.

…my lifelong passion to curate a wardrobe filled with meaning.

I have spent a lifetime curating meaningful clothes and accessories, always striving to add unique pieces to my wardrobe—items I will cherish and use for years. My interpretation of femininity is intertwined with the unique pieces I’ve collected over the years and my goal is to prioritize sustainability in every fashion choice I make. I hope my blog inspires you to make your own wardrobe more meaningful and “comfortable.”

Appreciating clothing as art fosters a deeper connection to what we wear I love clothes, not because they are fashionable, but because they remind me of events and stages of my life. They are mementos that I have collected, the same way people collect souvenirs. My passion for garments come from their cultural impact, and the stories they tell.

To me, fashion designers are artists. Along my travels, I have prioritized visiting design ateliers as much as museums to see and experience how clothing is truly a work of art. Each item in my wardrobe brings back memories akin to those evoked by my favorite music, foods, and scents. Together, my clothes and accessories help me feel at ease in my own skin. Wearing something from my collection often transports me back to the times I last wore it, and when I want to cultivate a specific mood, my wardrobe is the perfect starting point.
